
First Steps 2019
The first steps course provides parents with practical knowledge and skills for effectively managing the early stages of raising a happy family.
First Steps is a course developed by IFFD (International Federation for Family Development, www.iffd.org/en) that uses the Harvard Case Study Method to explore parenting issues. It aims to provide practical assistance and empower parents with the confidence to fulfill their roles as first educators of their children.
Where: Hawthorn Library, 584 Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn 3122
Cost: $250 per couple or $210 if booked by February 17th
Course schedule: 3 Mar | 24 Mar | 14 Apr | 5 May | 26 May | 16 Jun | 7 Jul . All sessions are from 2 to 4pm.
Topics include character building, heredity and temperament, love and discipline, marriage bond, siblings and the role of play. Small group meetings will take place on mutually agreed dates at a couples' home between each session.
