Chris Berry House Concert

hero

Grammy award winner Chris Berry is an eclectic singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist virtuoso, and high-energy performer and teacher. From his humble beginnings during Robert Mugabe’s regime in Zimbabwe, he has shared his powerful Afro-infused sound around the world for over twenty years. He has released over a dozen albums, scored the soundtrack for three films; and has collaborated with performers including Eminem, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, Senegalese Afro-Pop sensation Youssou N’Dour, Cuban legends Los Munequitos de Mantanzas, jazz artist Paul Winter, Jamaican rhythm and production duo Sly and Robbie, and the Fugee’s producer Handel Tucker along with many more. Chris will be visiting Melbourne in March 2019 for the first leg of his Bana Kuma Retreat tour, and will be playing a special intimate house concert to begin his offerings to our Victorian community.

You are warmly invited to join us in Warburton to enjoy the beauty of Chris’ musical wisdom as he takes us on a journey with the ancient sounds of the Zimbabwean mbira. He will be accompanied this evening by his daughter Waniso Berry (vocals) and percussionist Djulz Chambers. This will be a rich community experience at the foot of Mount Donna Buang. Discounts apply for those attending the Bana Kuma Retreat. If this is you, please email djulz@soucirclesdrumming.com for the discount code. Children 12 and under are free. This event will be held at a private residence, and as such the address will be sent to you via email in response to your booking. In anticipation of a magic night of music.
