Writing workshop with Karen Foxlee - Inner Worlds

Write Links Writing workshop with Karen Foxlee. $15 Book Links members, $25 non-members | 12:30-2:00

Inner Worlds: Bringing characters to life on the page
Great stories revolve around characters we care about. Readers connect with and care about characters who have a strong voice, thoughts and emotions, wants and desires, worries and fears. Getting inside your character’s head is so important to bringing them to life on the page. This workshop will focus on practical ways to build the internal world of your character.

Karen Foxlee spent most of her adult life working as a registered nurse while pursuing her secret dream of becoming a writer. Her books for younger readers and young adults, including Ophelia and the Marvellous Boy and A Most Magical Girl,  have been published at home and internationally to much acclaim. Her latest book, Lenny’s Book of Everything, was published by Allen & Unwin in October. Horatio Squeak, a picture book, is to be published with Walker Books in 2019.  Karen lives and writes in Queensland.
