Field Trip - Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne
DESIGN AND HORTICULTURE TOUR
ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS CRANBOURNE
The event will include a presentation providing an overview of the development of the Australian Garden, morning tea, a guided tour and Q&A session.
Tours will be provided by three key RBG Cranbourne experts whose unequalled knowledge and experience will provide designers, builders and students with valuable insights:
- Jill Burness - Landscape Planner With over 20 years of experience with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Jill's role at Cranbourne is focused on strategic planning and project development.
- John Arnott - Manager, Horticulture John leads the team of horticulturists at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne and is a recipient of the Australian Plants Award.
- Warren Worboys - Curator, Horticulture Warren was heavily involved for over ten years in the hard and soft landscape design and construction of the Australian Garden, to ensure the design fulfils the horticultural and ecological goals of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Meeting point will be the Visitor Centre located at the entrance to the Australia Garden.
Meet at 9.00am for tea and coffee on arrival
9.30 am - Presentation overviewing the development of the Australian Garden
11.00 am - Garden tours hosted by Jill Burness, John Arnott and Warren Worboys
12.30 pm - Closing questions
1.00 pm - Optional lunch. Bring a picnic or book a table at the cafe on 5990 2247
Members - $50 (Includes members of affiliated associations: EWHA, NGIV, AILA, AILDM etc.)
Student Members - $30
Non-Members - $75
Ticket price covers cost of entry, morning tea and refreshments.
