MSO: A Britten Goes to Russia?

Connections abound in this very watery program. Handel’s lovely water music was commissioned by Britain’s King George I to be performed on the Thames. British composer Benjamin Britten had a lifelong creative relationship with Russia and greatly admired the music of Tchaikovsky.
