Winter Breakfast Event
A perfect storm: how mental health, financial vulnerability
and social isolation intersect to lead people into crisis.
You're invited to the launch of our 2019 Winter Breakfast Program, which provides
people in crisis a free hot meal during the cold months.
The event is an opportunity to join the conversation and hear from a panel of experts providing commentary
on the interconnectedness of mental health, social isolation and financial exclusion.
An experienced public sector and community services professional, Paul Linossier has been Chief Executive Officer of Uniting Vic.Tas since its creation in 2016. Mr Linossier was previously the CEO of Wesley Mission Victoria and has a strong personal commitment to the marginalised and vulnerable in our community as well as experience in leading organisational change and system reform that spans three decades.
Dr Lim is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and leads the Social Health and Wellbeing (SHAW) Laboratory. Dr Lim is interested in how subjective loneliness can negatively impact social functioning and exacerbate mental health symptoms (e.g., social anxiety, depression and paranoia).
Professor Kulkarni is Professor of Psychiatry at The Alfred and Monash University. She is founder and director of a large psychiatric research group, the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre, which aims to develop new treatments, new understanding and new service deliveries for people with mental illness.
