This fundraiser is a project of Winds of Hope, a Port Melbourne based charity working towards improving healthcare services in Uganda and educational outcomes for young women in need.
We're supported by our local partners, including the Rotary Club of Albert Park.
Our goal for 2020 is to open our own primary school in Uganda, offering free primary school classes to girls from families who are unable to afford school fees, uniforms and tuition.
We also have a number of partner charities and organizations that we support in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and the region that will be showcased at the event.
This event is an important fundraiser for our cancer and HIV/Aids awareness and immunization programs, with proceeds used to improve the lives of youth and young adults in Uganda who are afflicted with preventable and treatable diseases. Learn more about our outreach programs below.
All proceeds from the night go directly towards our outreach programs in Uganda:
- School (primary) scholarships and support programs.
- Cancer awareness and education programs for students and young adults in Uganda
- Breast and cervical cancer screening outreach sessions
- HPV immunizations for female students in Uganda
The event also supports other community projects that we're passionate about, including:
- Team Vista - Children's Home & School Sponsorship in Moshi, Tanzania
- No Means No & Days for Girls - Kitengela, Kenya
Our sponsors are key to making this event a fantastic night!
