THE GREAT WIZARD'S BALL
EARLYOWL PRICES END 17 JULY. SAVE $45!
O'Hanlon Place, Gold Creek, Nicholls, ACT
Can my child come to the Ball?
We have created a special version of The Great Wizard's Ball especially for children and their families. It won't be as long as the evening ball, we will be serving afternoon-tea-style food instead of a full meal and only some of the entertainment from the main ball. As a result, the ticket price is lower to make it more affordable for families. Quizzic Alley is a magical place loved by children all over Canberra and the wider region so we're making sure they don't miss out. It's important to note that this event really isn't appropriate for children under five and all children must be accompanied by an adult and vice-versa.
Those aged 14+ are permitted to attend the later ball but, as alcohol will be served, they must be accompanied by an adult and parents/guardians must ensure underage attendees comply with all relevant rules, regulations and licenses.
Please note that proof of age may be required prior to service of alcohol at the later ball.
Is The Great Wizard's Ball a fund-raiser?
Quizzic Alley is committed to creating cool events and using them to raise funds for worthy causes. For 2019/20 our partner for fund-raising is The Smith Family's children's literacy program. Some of the fun and magical activities will have a cost associated. Others will be free but we ask you to consider making a gold coin donation. Representatives from The Smith Family will attend both balls and may run fundraising raffles etc.
Can we dress up?
Absolutely! We encourage it! There will be prizes for best-dressed and lots of photo opps around the room that you will want to be dressed up for. Drop in to Quizzic Alley in Fyshwick for any clothes and accessories you need. We will also have a limited range of accessories etc. at the ball for those last-minute purchases and finishing touches.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, The Abbey is wheelchair accessible... except for the stage. The costume parade will be held on the stage but, if you are in a wheelchair, you are welcome to parade on the dance floor at the front of the stage. Wheelchair users will be seated at the end of the table towards the back of the room but The Abbey is not that big and visibility etc. from those seats is fine.
Can I sit with my friends?
Of course! Book a table of 8 (or a family of 4 for the Small Wizards' Ball) and we will make sure you all sit together. Note that seating is trestle format which means that you should arrive togther if you want to sit together. And please make sure you are all on time or early! Make sure you and your friends agree on an arrival time as you will have to wait for them to arrive before entering the venue.
What is your refund policy?
Tickets are sold on a non-refundable basis. However, you can gift your ticket to someone else as long as they can present your ticket upon entry. All attendees must have a valid ticket to enter.
What about dietary requirements?
All meals will be served banquet style so, if you have special dietary requirements, please make sure you specify them at booking and, when you arrive, please make yourself known to the person at the registration desk.
