'Headlines, deadlines on the immigration frontline’

In an era where information is king, Australian’s rely on our media outlets to provide us with information so we can make informed decisions. Decisions which can impact lives.

‘Headlines, deadlines on the immigration frontline’ will address Australia’s view on refugees as portrayed by our media.

Hear from the experts:

-               Journalist and producer of SBS series ‘Go back to where you came from’, Ronan Sharkey

-               Former UN spokesman for Sri Lanka and successful author, Gordon Weiss

-               Amnesty International Australia spokesperson, Sara Salek 

-          Filmmaker, photographer, storyteller and Associate Producer of Insight (SBS), Saber Baluch 

You will also have the opportunity to speak with recently arrived refugees from Sri Lanka.

25% of net proceeds will go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which currently centers on providing immediate and effective humanitarian aid and shelter to 1.4 million Syrian refugees.

Drinks, canapés and entertainment are included in ticket cost.
