Worimi Elders and Forster Neighbourhood Centre, on behalf of Better Learning, Better Communities (BLBC), invite you to share the third Big Sing by the Sea, a musical Worimi cultural experience where Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people sing and learn together.

For early starters, on Friday afternoon, by special request, there will be a spectacular Worimi Cultural Cruise (bookings required).

Singing begins on Saturday, guided by Rachel Hore, OAM, founder of Big Sing in the Desert. We will sing familiar songs, learn new ones, including some in Worimi language, Gathang. All this while we form a new singing community!

As well as singing there will be:

  • a display of old photos (supplied by Forster/Tuncurry Museum), many of which have an unrecognised Worimi story to tell;
  • artworks by talented commmunity members displayed for sale;
  • a screening of the film "Teach a Man to Fish", produced by local Biripi man, Grant Saunders.  Grant will be there for Q&A
  • BBQ fish dinner at Smugglers Cove on Saturday evening (bookings required)

Sunday is all about polishing our singing so that we can demonstrate our collective awesomeness to friends and family at an afternoon concert, 2:30pm-3:30pm.

There may even be a ukulele or two. Please invite friends and family to come along and enjoy this concert.
