Sparks of Beauty
Sacred Spaces: the ones we build around us and the ones we create within

The Sparks of Beauty series seeks to enter into dialogue with speakers from a variety of fields—art, science, music, literature, sport—and to celebrate the intersections between faith and life while encouraging a new imagining of Catholic spirituality in 21st century Australia.

Join us for an evening of conversation, music and contemplation at ACU's awardwinning St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Chapel, where we will explore the notion of 'sacred spaces'—the ones we build around us and the ones we create within.

Fr Laurence Freeman OSB is the Director of The World Community for Christian Meditation—an ecumenical, contemplative community dedicated to teaching  meditation. Together with Cathy Jenkins, Director of the Archbishop's Office for Evangelisation Melbourne, the two will offer some insights on how we might find and celebrate the sacred in today's increasingly fragmented and secular world.
