Acacia Quartet

Friday 18 October

‘The American’

Acacia Quartet present another program of viola quartets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Alice Chance and Dvorák.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's String Quartet No. 15 in d Minor, K421 is the second of the quartets dedicated to Haydn and the only one of the set in a minor key.

Alice Chance is one of Australia’s fast-emerging young composers. A Sundried String Quartet is her latest composition, specially commissioned for Acacia Quartet.

Dvorák's famous String Quartet No. 12, Op. 96, 'American'. Dvorák wrote this wonderful piece during the summer of 1893, while being on vacation in Spillville, Iowa and it clearly shows African-American influences.

This outstanding event fuses exceptional music, landmark architecture, fine food and wine.

Tickets $140 including a pre-show two course dinner  and a glass of estate wine in the Dining Room, from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
