Cruising Information Night "Navigation"

Mike Prince Director National Charting Program of the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) will be presenting an evening on the very latest in Electronic charts and current updates to Paper charts, and their future.
This will be an evening not to miss, as it will encompass the very latest information available on electronic charts, the future of paper charts and their current accuracies, and will provide a greater understanding of Charts, GPS, and the correct use of both will be demonstrated.
Mike will be presenting information relating to the work of the Hydrographers Office and the production of electronic and paper charts for navigational purposes. He will also explain and talk about the important issues regarding the use of electronic charts and use real examples of GPS assisted groundings to illustrate these issues.
In addition to this evening, representatives from Book Books (Paper Charts) and 33 South Marine Electronic (Expedition) have been invited to the evening to further aid and support Sailors, Cruisers and Sydney to Hobart Competitors.
At the endo the presentation they will be taking questions on the use of electronic charts and how the details and information on those charts vary with different providers.
