The Advent of Grace

Preparing for the Season of Advent (Year A)

Offered over two weeks, these Advent formation sessions are ideal for liturgy and parish leadership teams looking to explore the Gospel of Matthew (Year A) and ideas on how to bring the season to life in their local communities.

In week 1 (Tuesday 15 October), participants will be guided through the Gospel of Matthew by Ria Greene (Deputy Principal, Identity, Community and Action, St Bede's College Mentone), who will explore the gospel's context, structure and key themes.

In week 2 (Tuesday 22 October), participants can choose from a range of workshops that will focus on developing a music repertoire for the season; engaging children and young people in the Advent and Christmas narratives; communicating the Advent message visually through visio divina; and the theology and practice of welcome and hospitality during the Season of Advent. Come to one session or come to both!
