Friday Feldenkrais Public Workshop

Lets face it, we all need strong bones.  Heighten your ability to sense and align the skeleton so that the weight of your body is spontaneously carried in the least taxing and efficient manner.  In this workshop you will explore the biomechanics of developing a springy walk "like nature meant".  Discover Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons and how they can relieve tension and improve your quality of life and well-being.
Jennifer Groves - Senior Movement Intelligence Trainer, Feldenkrais Practitioner.
Originally, Jenny studied yoga in the Himalayas in the late 70s. After twenty years of yogic practice, Jenny’s enquiry moved into the somatic and remedial fields. It was Jenny's own health journey that led to this deeper self-enquiry. Jenny completed her training as a Feldenkrais® Practitioner in 2000.
Jenny has taught throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific Region, in Taiwan and Korea. Besides having conducted Movement Intelligence training programs, Jenny offers group workshops specialising in pre and post abdominal surgery, stress incontinence, anxiety and depression. Jenny specialises with pelvic floor conditions.
Jenny works from her tranquil Mullumbimby studio, Douphraite House a small town in Northern New South Wales, Australia.


The workshop will include movement explorations and lessons using the floor, walls, and chairs.  It promises to be a varied and interesting day!   Jennifer has a way of including rhythm in her Feldenkrais teaching. 
This event is capped at 30 participants, all bookings close 8th November (we may extend the closing date if spaces are still available by that date).   If the "event" shows as "full" you can nominate to go on the waiting list  


$130 early booking price has been generously extended to all bookings.  It was advertised to go up to $160 so you are in luck if you have found that it is cheaper than expected.

what to bring / whats provided 

Please bring a mat.  You need a mat on which to lie since many movement explorations are done lying on the floor. Mats can be provided if required by ticking the box "I need a mat supplied" later in the booking process.

Re: the mats.  Its best to have one that is soft enough for the time you spend on the floor and one of good thickness (e.g. a 12mm fitness mat). (Most people need more than a thin yoga mat)
We will serve light refreshments for morning tea. BYO lunch or pop across to the Floreat Forum shopping centre.  At the venue there are microwaves to heat your food, glasses for water and fridges to store your food/drinks.  There are picnic tables and a lawn area outside at the back of the venue to sit and eat your lunch. BYO water bottle would be handy.
