Félix, a French member of the European Parliament, and his assistant Avra, a Greek economist, travel to Armenaki, an isolated Aegean island, on an official mission to examine investment opportunities. They find the island’s inhabitants have established their own alternative, moneyless lifestyle, based on their historical traditions, and quite independent of the state. A spiral of unforeseen events forces them both to reconsider their way of thinking and living.
