There is nowhere more isolated than a yacht at sea – are you prepared for a medical emergency?

The Cruising sub-committee has organised a group of highly qualified medical professionals to attend the Club to inform you what to do should you be unfortunate enough to have a medical emergency aboard your vessel.

  • Do you need to practice your basic life support skills to feel more confident if you need to save someone’s life?
  • Do you know the medications in your medical kit and your responsibilities in using them?
  • Do you know how and where to give an injection?
  • Do you know how to assess and manage life-threatening conditions?

The evening will cover how to treat injuries such as broken bones, ribs, head injuries and amputations as well as injections, drug administration and managing the injured person for the many hours or even longer that they will be on board and relying on you to care for them.

Beyond First Aid Information Evening is for anyone who races or cruises not to miss. The evening is free and open to all, and bookings are recommended

The Bistro will be open prior to and following the presentations.
