Beginner's and Some Experience Watercolour Workshop

 

‘Fantasy Flowers’ is a Whimsical Watercolour Workshop for beginners and those with a bit of painting experience. Danish born Glen Innes artist Marianne la Cour will introduce you to a free-flow approach of the use of watercolours, where incidents and mistakes are happily embrace and incorporated into the final painting.

Watercolours can be a straightforward painting medium to work with, where by allowing the artist to easily create colourful abstractions.

Each participant will create a series of small, beautiful paintings depicting fantasy flowers and whimsical abstractions.

 

  • Date: Sunday, 13th October 2019
  • Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm (15 minute break)
  • Venue: Packsaddle Studio
  • Cost: $72 Friends of NERAM/ $80 General

 

This 4 hour workshop is about learning new skills, sharing ideas and most of all – it’s about having a lovely and creative time with likeminded people. We have a maximum of 12 spots available, so be sure to get in quick!

 

By the end of the workshop you will have:

⁃ created a variety of small paintings
⁃ learned a bit about basic colour theory
⁃ applied different techniques

 

PLEASE NOTE! You will need:

  • A selection of watercolour paint
  • 3-4 A4 sheets of good watercolour paper
  • Paintbrushes suitable for watercolours (as a minimum a mob brush)
  • Containers and pallets
  • Sketch/Notebook

NERAM will supply 2B pencils, and 0.2 - 0.5mm permanent thin art liners for use during the workshop, but feel free to bring your own! (Artline 725 is the suggested pen - needs to be waterproof)

A Watercolour Kit containing 12 assorted colours, watercolour paper, ¾ Mob brush and permanent marker will be available for purchase for $29.00. Extra watercolour paper will also be available.
