BGS CORPORATE BREAKFAST
Chief Executive Officer, Equis.
Success takes Energy!
To say that BGS Hall of Famer David Russell’s (OB 87) business journey has been successful would be an understatement. David is a founding Partner and Chairman of Equis, Asia-Pacific’s largest independent infrastructure private equity manager and has 25 years of Asia-Pacific infrastructure and private equity experience. Remarkably, he has raised and realised over US$10 billion of equity for some of Asia-Pacific’s largest independent and institutional infrastructure funds.
David was the CEO and Chairman of Equis Energy, Asia’s largest renewable energy independent power producer. In October 2017, Equis sold Equis Energy to a Global Infrastructure Partners led consortium for $7.4 billion, the largest renewable energy transaction in history.
Prior to Equis, David was Senior Managing Director and Head of Greater China and Asian Private Equity at Macquarie Group and an energy and utilities lawyer with Skadden in the United States and Minters in Australia.
David is also the founder and Chairman of the CSS Foundation, which funds education, health and housing for vulnerable parents and children in Russia, Uzbekistan and the Philippines.
It is not surprising that David has been recognized with numerous industry awards, authored over 110 papers regarding infrastructure and is regularly recognised in Singapore Tatler’s 300 most influential people.
This is just a glimpse of David’s impressive journey. Join us at this breakfast to hear the full story along with the factors led to David achieving such success and the lessons he learned along the way.
