Non-Fatal Strangulation Twilight Seminar

You are invited to a twilight networking event featuring a live webinar on non-fatal strangulation (NFS) by Dr Maureen Philips.

This webinar will cover some of the latest information from WA, national and international research. You will become aware of the risks for women and children and links to long-term outcomes including homicide.

About the speaker
Dr Maureen Phillips is a Senior Medical Practitioner in clinical forensic medicine at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Perth and has been the Clinical Lead of SARC services in WA and the Northern Territory. She was previously a GP interested in women’s, indigenous and mental health, particularly responses to trauma. She has a Masters of Forensic Medicine and is a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine (RCPA) and a Fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine. She has been co-author of several publications including research on non-fatal strangulation and injury related to sexual assault.
