Robert Klippel: Drop-In Children’s Workshop
TarraWarra Museum of Art
313 Healesville-Yarra Glen Rd
Healesville VIC 3777
FRIDAY 17 JANUARY 2020
Visit TarraWarra Museum of Art these summer school holidays and take part in a free drop-in artmaking workshop inspired by the drawings, collages and ‘junk’ assemblage sculptures of Australian artist, Robert Klippel (1920-2001).
Join practicing artist Meredith Turnbull in the Museum foyer and discover the sculptural possibilities of combining different materials and found objects to create an extraordinary assemblage sculpture. Once you’ve completed your assemblage, get snap happy and photograph your creation in a miniature TarraWarra Museum of Art!
The workshop will run on a continual basis and visitors can join at any time during the session. In this hands-on activity you will experiment with different methods of fixing and explore the art of three-dimensional assemblage. All materials provided – feel free to bring along your own collection of small plastic or metal objects to incorporate into your artwork.
Either before or after the workshop, head into the Museum galleries to view over 100 artworks in the incredible survey exhibition ASSEMBLED: The Art of Robert Klippel (admission fees apply).
FREE, reservations required. Please reserve tickets for participating children only - parents/guardians included with each ticket.
This workshop is recommended for participants between 6-12 years of age. Parental involvement and supervision is required for all participating children. The workshop will take place in the Museum foyer and is drop-in, subject to capacity. Admission fees apply to view ASSEMBLED: The Art of Robert Klippel, see website for details.
