A trauma informed approach to managing survivors of abuse (CANCELLED)

We are delighted to announce that Adair Donaldson will deliver a CLE on ‘A trauma informed approach to managing survivors of abuse’ on Tuesday, 21 April 2020.
Adair has worked as a lawyer for over 20 years, and in 2016, Adair founded Donaldson Law to focus on a non-adversarial approach to achieving holistic legal solutions for his clients following a growing realisation that aggressive litigation was not delivering his clients justice.  Adair and his team represent an ongoing and dedicated focus to serving their clients’ best interests, recognising that the litigation paradigm does not always achieve this. His work focuses on helping those who have suffered abuse, particularly within institutions such as the defence force, religious conglomerates and schools.
With his significant experience and expertise, Adair’s presentation provides invaluable insight to using a trauma informed approach when assisting clients who have past or current traumas that are affecting their daily interactions, wellbeing and functioning. He talks candidly about what has and hasn’t worked in a thought provoking and entertaining session.
As all litigation has an inherently humane connection through personal experiences, circumstances and relationships of litigants or even those professionals tasked with steering and hearing the litigation, these insightful skills are transferable to any area of the legal profession.

This topic was brought to the attention of the Executive by a number of members who voiced the desire to understand how to better support clients of trauma. Adair was approached by the Executive to present on this topic based on his extensive experience and he has kindly donated his time to the Association to present this CLE. We are very thankful for his time and generosity and we hope you can join us for this event.
