‘Little Stories about Big Things’ Workshop with Danny Parker
Danny Parker has recently relocated to the Sunshine Coast, he joins us today for a workshop that explores his love of little stories about big things.
Danny’s work has been released all around the world, he has had the privilege of working with some of Australia’s finest Illustrators, including Matt Ottley, Freya Blackwood and Nathaniel Ekstrom. His books include Parachute, Tree, Molly and Mae, Perfect and the Lola’s Toybox series.
It is something of a truism that you never know where an idea will strike, but being alert and awake for when they do is a challenge in itself.
Join Danny as we chase an idea around the room to see if it is strong enough to stand on its own two feet...
Finding inspiration in the smallest things is something of an acquired skill. Come along and explore some of the starting points for Danny’s books, and to take the journey from inspiration to publishing. Hopefully this will instil a willingness to pursue ideas that have been with you for years, but never really seen the light of day. We all have them!
The workshop runs Saturday 5 September from 12:30 - 2:10 pm and will be followed by the Write Links meeting and critiquing.
The workshop is $15 for Book Links members and $25 for non-members. Bookings are essential as these workshops normally sell out. There is a .50 cent non-refundable booking fee.
