Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, daytime, May 2020

This is a good time to learn about mindfulness. You may well be more stressed than usual, have more unstructured time on your hands, and be less scoially connected. MBSR is a course to help with stress but it does take some time and effort on your behalf.  So why not now and in a way that connects you intimately with others.

MBSR is an 8-week educational program. It  will support you in developing resilience, self-care and greater well-being. It has a 30-year evidence base and is the course that most of the mindfulness research refers to. While traditionally run in a venue such as a hall, our May course will run online using Zoom. This app is wonderful. It will allow us all to see eachother, break into small groups for discussion amd for me to scribe as we go. It's a way of having closer contact and social distancing ata the same time.

You will learn formal (meditation based) and informal (daily life) mindfulness practices & understand the links to current psychological and scientific understandings of the brain and behaviour. MBSR can be helpful with psychological symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and physical experiences such as pain, headaches, and IBS. MBSR can help with concentration, emotional regulation and with simply feeling more vital and present in the moment.  It wil be directly relevant to much of what we are experiencing in negotiating  the changes brought about by Covid 19.

The next course runs online over 8 weeks, Monday 4 May - June 22, 12.00-2:30pm as well as  Sunday June 14, 10:00-3:00pm.

Medicare rebates of about $19.00 per class may be available with GP referral. Please contact me if you would like more information.
