Getting to know the Indigenous Boarding Sector #2

hero
Find out how the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) bridges the gap between remote schooling in the NT and their partner schools in Melbourne and how they connect with families so students remain culturally strong.

This is the second fortnightly webinar for boarding schools and residences to share their stories and for others to learn from seeing how each other approaches their Indigenous boarding practice.
Each webinar presentation is up to the school or residence and may show the facility, practices, challenges and highlight what makes the school proud.

The Melbourne Indigenous Transition School provides a unique Year 7 transition program for young Indigenous people from remote Northern Territory communities across Arnhem Land, the Tiwi Islands, the Victoria Daly Region and the Roper Gulf Region. Their school, located inside the Richmond Football Club, prepares students to transition into one of MITS Partner Schools to continue their education in Melbourne whilst remaining culturally strong and connected with their families and community.
