5 Audio Recordings of live classes-Whole Body Awareness

 

Audio classes $40 - cant attend live Zoom?  Do them at home in your own time.  5 Audio lesson recordings. 

Begins Friday 28th August but the 5 consecutive weeks of audio lessons can start at a later date if you have missed this start date.

DESCRIPTION

5 x weekly Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® online classes - WHOLE BODY AWARENESS

These 5 weeks of "Whole Body Awareness" classes fit in before the WA school holidays begin.  Its important to include movement lessons in your life to stem and even reverse the tide of reduced function that is considered a normal process of aging.  I believe regular mindful movement experiences such as Feldenkrais are as important as daily exercise. Feldenkrais tunes the body to allow the engine to run more efficiently.

These classes involve a range of movements where the attention is on the "how" of the movement.  How do you make it harder than it need be, how could you make it easier?  What is your intention with the movement?  How does the intention affect your breath?  Can you be more interested in the process and allow the outcome to happen?  Are you always so focussed on the outcome you miss the process?  Do you hold your breath?  Does holding your breath make it easier or is holding your breath an habituated response when you expect something to be difficult?  If I say take your shoulder backwards, what does that mean to you?  You might try it sitting there.  Do you take your shoulder (pick any one) backwards and up, backwards and down, or just up and not backwards at all?  Do your really know what you do?  Do you need to look in a mirror to know what you are doing?  Feldenkrais raises body awareness by mapping the many parts of ourselves in our brain.  We learn to know better where we are and what we do, not just in the Feldenkrais class, but in all life situations.  If we dont actually know what we do how can we change to improve?  Body mapping through slow and attentive movements is an ongoing exploration.  Come and join me on a journey of self discovery.

Only 1 ticket can be booked at a time due to the requirement of each attendee to provide some health information and agree to the booking terms and conditions.  The information is to help me provide you with the best experience possible.  If you have attended classes/workshops/used my audio recordings in the last 12 months just put an X in fields.

 

"Audio" bookings receive a recording of the "live online Zoom" class by email, allowing them to be done at home in your own time.  Feldenkrais classes work very well with the audio only format. The recordings remain available to access for up to a month after the last lesson.  Many people find it interesting to re-visit the same lesson to discover that based on their previous learning the lesson can feel quite different the 2nd or 3rd time around.  This is the path to richer learning.  To learn something new and never revisit it you couldnt expect to retain the learning.  Not in any sphere of learning and not in body learning either.
