Course Information

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art form with deep roots in Chinese culture and philosophy.  The slow, gentle movement cultivates a calm, yielding quality, emphasising a continuous flow of energy, and kinetically symbolising the play of yin-yang. Attention is placed on mind intention, breath, alignment and easy flow of motion. Highlighting cycles of change, gentleness and freedom, this encourages one to connect to nature, to experience, and to one's inner spirit.  The benefits of Tai Chi are wide and may include inner peace, improved balance, increased control of body and emotions, a fuller presence and vitality for life. No one is too awkward, timid or old to do Tai Chi!

About your Instructor (Tai Chi and Nia)

Carolyn has always enjoyed exploring the possibilities and expressiveness of movement.  Formerly a professional ballet and musical theatre dancer, and with over 8 years of teaching experience, her desire is to share practices that enhance, heal, expand and light-up individuals.  She has discovered that Nia and Tai Chi do this perfectly and combined with her own spark of creativity, passion and positivity,  her students discover how to find a magical energetic state of mind-body-spirit harmony!
