Fostering curiosity, wonder and delight for our natural world.
Disappearing tarn - Go Wild Go Solo - (10-14 yrs) (SOLD OUT)
NOTE: Go Wild Go Solo are parent/guardian free activities - full supervision is provided
Join us on kunanyi/Mt Wellington for an expedition to one of Tasmania’s most elusive and magical tarns (alpine lake).
We spend the day walking through sub-alpine forest along the Milles Track in search of the crystal clear ephemeral tarn hidden amongst kunanyi's boulder fields.
There’s plenty of time for making new friends, challenging yourself and exploring the wilds.
Please note this is a challenging activity and requires some previous bushwalking experience.
We strongly recommend that your child has previously completed a 5km bushwalk in a single day.
This actvity involves 7km of walking on a track that is very rough (roots and rocks) and very muddy in parts.
If your child is moderately active this is a very achievable activity and lots of fun.
(Examples of the Milles Track rough terrain)
