Helping Teenagers be Cyber Smart

Helping Teenagers be Cyber Smart

One of the challenges for parents is knowing how to monitor and manage their teenager’s use of electronic technology such as the Internet, gaming platforms, and smart devices.  This is best done as a gradual process as the teenager grows from being a child into an adolescent. Every parent has to develop their own rules and set appropriate limits to encourage responsible, safe use of these ever-evolving opportunities. The formula for success includes encouraging teenagers to be respectful and considerate of other users, to recognise and manage risks, have a balanced lifestyle, and be informed and intelligent consumers. This seminar provides some ideas on how to help teenagers achieve these goals.  Presenter is Dr Alan Ralph - Positive Parenting Program.
