Flying Robots - Friend or Foe?

Communications Technology Industry Dinner Thursday 7th August

Our speaker will be SHARA EVANS a well-known technologist, futurist and opinion leader in the Australian telecommunications market, as well as the Founder and CEO of Market Clarity an award-winning telecommunications analyst firm that provides insight, intelligence and advice on all aspects of the Australian telecom market.

Starting her career as a software engineer designing telecommunications protocols and networks, Shara's technical and business career has included a variety of executive positions with companies such as Alcatel, Sprint, Telenet, GTE and SmithKline prior to founding her first telecommunications analyst firm, Telsyte in 1997 (later sold to UXC).

Shara is often quoted in the press, regularly speaks at industry events, and is an active participant in industry organisations such as the Communications Alliance and Women on Boards.  She is also cited as one of the industry‚Äôs leading futurists, fusing her engineering background with an intuitive understanding of how society is likely to respond to new technologies.

In addition to extensive corporate, government, vendor, carrier and service provider client work, she has published over 100 articles and research papers on these topics.

Shara will present her research on the use of flying robots, describe some incredible use cases but also identify the huge challenges that this uptake will create.  You should expect an entertaining presentation and a great follow on debate!
