Integrated Pest Management Farm Workshop & Tour

hero
Don't miss this oppotunity to join Farmer Incubator for an onsite Integrated Pest Management Workshop at Somerset Heritage Produce with Angelica Cameron, Entomologist with IPM Technologies
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES - STAY TUNED IN 2019 WHEN THE BUGS WILL BE BACK IN FORCE!

Just an hour out of Melbourne, this exciting day will include a farm tour led by Somerset Heritage Produce farmer, Chloe Fox, and will include an indepth, hands on Integrated Pest Management workshop aimed at helping growers understand, plan and apply IPM best practice to their environment.

It's rare that small farmers get the opportunity to engage with an entomologist, as it's usually outside the budget, but coming together on a day like this, we can access these resources and deepen our knowledge. Dont miss this opportunity to have your burning bug questions answered!

The day will run from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 24th November.

A delicious wholesome lunch, tea & coffee will be provided by Farmer Incubator crew along with a field guide & a bucket load of tips on IPM best approach, services and resources.

The IPM workshop will be run by Angelica Cameron, an entomologist who assists farmers and advisors to develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. She currently works across Australia and New Zealand on a variety of projects aimed at increasing uptake of IPM in crops ranging from intensive horticulture to broad-acre cropping and fodder crops. Angelica lectures in entomology and plant protection at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University and in 2018 she received the “Researcher of the Year” award from the South Australian vegetable industry. On the home front Angelica and her household run a (non commercial) micro urban farm with dairy goats, poultry, and fruit and vegetable production and Angelica never misses an opportunity to help and inspire gardeners of all ages to learn more about ‘good bugs’.

BYO magnifying glass, hat and water bottle.

Field guides will be provided in the price of the ticket and hand lenses available for purchase for $30 if you dont have your own.

We are keeping the group small so we can get upclose and hands on with the grubs - don't miss out!!
