2020 National Indigenous Education and Boarding Symposium

hero
3rd National Indigenous Education and Boarding Symposium, 17-19 March 2020.

In 2018 at the National Indigenous Education and Boarding Symposium we met to share our collective knowledge of Indigenous student boarding through the lens of the:

  • Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse,
  • The power of education: From surviving to thriving Educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students report and,
  • the Study Away review.

The 2nd Symposium in 2019 explored the practical challenges, good practices and the call to do Whatever it Takes in our own school’s context to achieve the IEBA vision ‘that all Indigenous students attain educational outcomes that enable them to be successful in their future choices’.

In 2020 we want your contribution to shaping a National Indigenous Cultural Boarding Standard. We know the risks and challenges of Indigenous student boarding. We know what good practice looks like. We now need to act collectively to create a standard we should all aspire to.

Register for the Symposium to add your voice to Shape a Standard now.
