Terms and Conditions  −  Intro to the Havening Techniques - Melb - November 2021

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By proceeding with your booking and making payment, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions

a) Admission into the workshop
• This training does not provide basic training in trauma informed therapy or basic counselling skills. Participants must have a tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or related field; work with clients who have experienced stress and/or trauma; and be eligible for membership of a professional association. Please contact the organiser ASAP to discuss circumstances that may permit special exemption.
• All training course participants will be required to provide the organiser with their contact details, including their email address and current mobile phone number. The organiser will maintain a database of participants’ contact details for the purpose of recording their attendance at training events, registering them with Havening.org for access to resources and possibly for the promotion of future Havening events. This information will be stored securely.
• Places in training courses will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If a course is over-subscribed, we will operate a waiting list.

b) Confirmation and ticketing
• Bookings are confirmed only when full payment is received in cleared funds
• Within 24 hours of funds being cleared, you will receive an email to the email address provided with confirmation and details of your booking and/or ticket

c) Cancelled or re-scheduling of training events
• The organiser reserves the right to cancel a training course if deemed necessary. This would only happen as a last resort and in exceptional circumstances.
• Venues and training dates are occasionally subject to change. Where a venue or date change is necessary, we will endeavour to contact participants using the contact details they have supplied.
• Please note, the organiser is not responsible for any non-refundable travel arrangement losses resulting from a workshop being rescheduled or cancelled.

d) Cancellations, substitutions and refunds
Notifications of cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing to: robyn.elliott58@gmail.com Alternatively, call 0418 386 345 to discuss your options.

More than 90 days prior to course commencement
• Registered participants unable to attend a scheduled training course who notify us (in writing) at least 90 days prior to the scheduled event, may either:
- arrange for a substitute participant to attend in their place at no extra charge OR
-cancel their registration and receive a refund less a $90 administration fee

More than 60 days prior to course commencement
• Registered participants unable to attend a scheduled training course who notify us (in writing) at least 60 days prior to the scheduled event, may either:
-arrange for a substitute participant to attend in their place at no extra charge OR
-cancel their registration and receive a refund less 25% of the cost of the course (provided we have received payment from you in full)

More than 30 days prior to course commencement
• Registered participants unable to attend a scheduled training course who notify us (in writing) at least 30 days prior to the scheduled event, may either:
-arrange for a substitute participant to attend in their place at no extra charge OR
-cancel their registration and receive a refund less 50% of the cost of the course (provided we have received payment from you in full)

Less than 30 days prior to course commencement
• Requests for refunds received less than 30 days prior to course commencement will be denied except as required by law. A substitute participant may attend in your place at no extra charge provided you notify us at least 1 working day prior to the training start date and we have received payment from you in full. Requests for substitution must be made in writing to: robyn.elliott58gmail.com.

f) Code of conduct during the training course
• Safety is a basic and necessary requirement for learning. The organiser presumes participants have an adequate level of interpersonal competency and communication skills, a working knowledge of counselling frameworks, and sufficient self-regulation skills to manage their own needs while attending the course.
• Any abuse, discrimination, rudeness or disrespect of anyone in the training by a participant will not be tolerated. The safety of participants and trainers is paramount at all times. If a participant is unable to manage themselves adequately, every attempt will be made to resolve the issue sensitively and diplomatically. However, the organiser reserves the right to discontinue said participant’s involvement in the remainder of the training where resolution is not possible and the safety and/or learning needs of other participants are compromised.
• This training course includes experiential exercises where participants will be encouraged to work on their own material. Please take care of your own safety by deciding what level of self-disclosure you are comfortable with, taking up the option to “pass” at any point or by taking a break. However, if you find yourself distressed during the workshop please approach one of the trainers or assistants for support.
• Confidentiality of private material shared by any participant throughout the workshop is a core expectation in line with professional standards and ethical behaviour.
• Our expectation is that all participants have access to supervision and therapeutic support should they need it after the training for processing personal matters that may get brought up during training exercises.
