Cobb & Co Festival - Caravans and Camping
The Cobb & Co Festival is a moving event so if you want to keep up, pack your swag and register for camping for the self-contained caravans and campers in Surat and Yuleba.
Camping sites are mostly unpowered and you will have access to basic amenities, depending on the location. You are of course welcome to stay anywhere in the Maranoa and travel each day to catch up with the Festival.

Santos and MPK Long Table Dinner and Official Festival Opening. Book a seat for Yuleba’s Long Table Dinner where diners enjoy dinner and dessert under the stars in the middle of the town’s main street! Come along to kick off the Cobb & Co Festival with live music, canapes and a two-course dinner with a complementary cocktail on arrival. Bar will be operating. Come along in your best period costume, your finest ballgown or your best suit to celebrate the Cobb & Co Festival in Yuleba. The band '2 Timing' will provide Old Time/New Vogue, upbeat Rock 'n' Roll, Country and Modern dance music.
The Belle, Beau and Princess of the Ball will be announced on the night. Supper and a complementary drink are included in the entry price and it is a licensed event, bar will be operating "till late".

Beginner's Blacksmithing Workshop (ROMA)
Between Sunday 18 August 2024 and Thursday 22 August 2024
Learn the basics of blacksmithing with this fun, hands-on Blacksmithing Workshop for Beginners with qualified Blacksmith, Mick Henricks. You’ll make Fireplace tools to take home with you – including a Fire Poker & Rake, plus hooks to hang them on. Only 4 participants per workshop; all materials supplied. Please wear appropriate clothing including closed in boots (or steel capped),long shirt and long pants (pure cotton preferred). Morning tea and light lunch will be provided. Please bring water bottle.
This workshop is for 16 years and over.

Calling all descendants & friends of Cobb & Co - we want to hear your stories! Please bring along your memorabilia too. These gatherings will be facilitated by author Hazel Johnson.
This will be one of two separate opportunities which will enable you to share your personal Cobb & Co Coach Connection - one in Yuleba and the other in Surat as part of the festival program . Choose which location, date and time suits you best.

Learn the basics of leather work with this fun, hands-on workshop for beginners with qualified Saddle makers. You’ll make your own leather pouch to take home with you.

Registering participation in Origin/APLNG Cobb & Co Trail Ride is for horse riders, horse drawn vehicles, carriage passengers and their support crew. These people who will be taking part in the re-enactment along the 76km Cobb & Co Way between Surat and Yuleba.

Re-enactment Departure Schedule
Once in a lifetime opportunity to relive part of Australian history.
Be a passenger on the historic Cobb & Co Coach as it re-enacts 100 years since the last coach made the trip between Surat and Yuleba in South West Queensland.
Choose from 1 of 7 legs of the route which average 10 km sections of the Cobb & Co Way route.
You can choose a seat inside or on top of the coach.
Inside seats are bench seats.
Outside seats - These seats necessitate climbing so are suitable for the agile adult not suitable for those with mobility issues or young children.
Each ticket includes a light refreshment at the conclusion of your journey.

Old style fish and chips – that’s it! Just one decision to make, do you want crumbed or battered? Enjoy an easy dinner watching the Australian Movie Night Double at the Surat Recreation Oval. The Surat Fish & Chip Group volunteers donate their profits to other local groups as needed. Surat State School P & C will be operating a bar.
