Quantum Education

Quantum Education, member of the Australian Tutoring Association, is a professional tutoring centre based in Melbourne Camberwell. QE offers elaborately developed academic courses across a variety of subjects, including Maths, English, EAL, Chinese, Algorithmics and Science for primary, secondary and VCE students (Y3-Y12). QE is recognised for its expertise in Mathematics coaching at advanced levels.

2024 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)

Between Tuesday 6 August 2024 and Wednesday 7 August 2024
The school-based competition is suitable for students from lower primary to upper secondary. Entrants in years 3–6 are asked to solve 30 problems in 60 minutes, while those in years 7–12 have 75 minutes to solve more complex problems. Quantum Education, as a registered AMC coordinator, is passionate about helping our students to discover and optimise their mathematical potentials. Your child is invited to enter this internationally recognised competition.

2024 Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO)

Thursday 29 August 2024
Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO) recognises and challenges students with an interest in computer programming. Participating students will need some programming experience and be able to write code. Allowed languages are C, C++, Java or Python 3. Intermediate for students up to year 10 Senior for students up to year 12 Note: there is only one AIO paper. Divisions are for awarding only. 2024 AIO is on Thursday 29 August 4:00pm-7:00pm (3 Hours)

2024 Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO)

Thursday 12 September 2024
This four-hour contest is designed to stretch talented students. It is suited to years 7 to 10 level and particularly for those who: -have completed Maths Enrichment (Gauss or Noether level) -are high achievers in AMC -have acquired knowledge in Olympiad problem solving. AIMO is also used to determine which students are selected to a number of invitation only events. Date: Thursday 12th September 2:00pm-6:00pm (4 Hours) Venue: QE Camberwell Campus

2024 Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge Round 1 & 2

The Bebras challenge is a free online challenge aimed at students from Years 3 to 12 running for 45 to 60 minutes. Bebras develops and assesses student’s problem solving and computational thinking skills. Running twice a year, the Bebras challenge is Australian curriculum aligned and a great way to engage students in collaborative, creative and critical thinking. When: Round 1: Tuesday 23 April to Thursday 9 May 2024 Round 2: Tuesday 8 to Thursday 24 October 2024 Students may participate from home at their preferred date and time within the system's open time frame.

2024 US AMC 10/12 (MAA American Mathematics Competitions)

Between Thursday 7 November 2024 and Wednesday 13 November 2024
Quantum Education is the exclusive official authorised organisation for registration and examination for MAA AMC in Australia. This year marks the fifth year that Quantum Education has organised the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) in Australia. In previous years' competitions, several Australian students have been invited to the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) through the AMC 10 or 12, achieving remarkable results. US AMC 10/ 12 are 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice contest. Students will conduct the contest online. Students in grade 10 or below and under 17.5 years of age on the day of the competition are eligible to participate in the AMC 10. Students in grade 12 or below and under 19.5 years of age on the day of the competition are eligible to participate in the AMC 12. 2024 OXFORD UNIVERSITY COMPUTING CHALLENGE (OUCC) -Round 1

Tuesday 18 June 2024
The Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC) is a two-round online competition held in term 2. The first round (25th May) is open to all students in years 5–12 and the second round (8 June) is an invitational for the top 20 students in each division from the first round. Both stages of the competition have 12 questions and students will have 60 minutes to complete. There are 12 tasks in three sections. Upper Primary and Junior divisions – All tasks are Blockly Intermediate and Senior divisions – All tasks are code submissions Please bring your own fully recharged device. 2024 Big Science Competition

The Big Science Competition is one of the biggest international science competitions. It is an easy way to challenge students from Years 7 to 10 and track their performance against state or national averages. Competition questions are aligned with the Australian Curriculum – Science. It is a 50-minute, multiple choice competition testing science knowledge, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. 2024 Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF)

In 1991, two French teachers inspired by the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) decided to start a similar online competition in France. They called it the ‘Kangaroo’ to pay tribute to their Australian friends. In Australia, Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF) is an online access competition. Students are required to bring own devices and come to QE Camberwell Campus to participate.
