We always set sail and the destination will either be towards and often through the Tasman Bridge or south towards the John Garrow light. Special Event: Opening of the Sailing Season

Saturday 4 October 2025
This is one of the highlight of Hobart's sailing season. It celebrates the opening of the Tasmanian sailing season. The local sailing clubs combine for an onriver spectacle: many decorate their yachts and fly their flags and pennants. We fly our flags and join the sail past the Governors launch, the Egeria. Its a fun day out and quite exciting as we wave to those we know and of course salute our Governor Kate Warner. Afternoon tea is included.
