Carer Connection Dinner GDR

Between Thursday 18 September 2025 and Thursday 20 November 2025
Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT (FKCANT) is inviting all our foster and kinship carers to our monthly carer connection dinner. An opportunity for our carer community to connect, share experiences and enjoy a delicious meal together. The Dinner is at Cazaly's Club Palmerston. A friendly FKCANT staff member will be available from 5:45pm-7pm. You are welcome to join us at any time that suits you. Cazaly's Club Palmerston has a fully supervised kids' club led by Ochre Card-qualified staff. Enjoy your dinner while your kids have fun in a safe and supportive environment. Meals will be available at Cazaly's menu prices, and kids eat free! FKCANT will sponsor meals for children from the kid's menu. Reservations are essential; please book using the link below or call our office at 1300 352 268. Dinner dates: 17 Jul, 21 Aug, 18 Sep, 16 Oct and 20 Nov. This event is open to registered volunteer Dept. Children & Families carers and FKCANT members.

Professional Learning Workshop with FKCANT & Child Australia

Child Protection: Strengthen your understanding of child protection principles and learn strategies to help keep children safe. Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT (FKCANT), in collaboration with the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF), invites registered DCF (Department of Children and Families) foster and kinship carers and FKCANT members to attend: Understanding Harmful Sexualised Behaviours 📅 Tuesday, 18 November 2025 🕣 9:00 am to 12:30 pm 📍 FKCANT Training Room, 2/20 Catterthun Street, Winnellie This workshop supports carers to identify, understand, and respond to sexual behaviours in children and young people. Learning outcomes: Understand harmful sexual behaviours in children and youth. Apply the Behaviour Traffic Lights framework to assess behaviours. EOI: 2025 National Foster & Kinship Care Conference

✨ FKCANT is offering four fully sponsored places for NT foster and kinship carers to attend the 2025 National Foster & Kinship Care Conference in Sydney, 28–30 November 2025. 🌟 This year’s theme, “Empowering Carers to Transform Lives” brings together expert speakers, practical workshops, and opportunities to connect with carers from across Australia. Sessions will cover topics such as carer wellbeing, navigating trauma, culture and identity, neurodivergence, raising teens, online safety, and therapeutic parenting. ✅ Each sponsored place includes: Full 3-day conference ticket including the Gala Dinner Return flights (Darwin or Alice Springs ↔ Sydney) 3 nights’ accommodation (Thu 27, Fri 28, Sat 29 Nov) Daily meals provided through the conference program 📝 EOIs close Fri 10 Oct 2025. 📢 Only four carers will be selected by FKCANT and notified by Fri 17 Oct 2025. Confident Conversations & Clear Boundaries Workshop
