Year 7 Bnei Mitzvah Ceremony

At Bialik College, we are extraordinarily fortunate that our Year 7 students embark on one of the most meaningful journeys of their school lives. The Bnei Mitzvah program. This year, guided by the 2025 theme, that every dream has a path, students explored what it means to come from somewhere, to carry something forward, and to walk with purpose, creativity and generosity toward who they are becoming.

We are excited to invite you to our 2026 Year 3 Drama Performance of The Wizard of Aus. Throughout this year the students in Year 3 have been learning, with our Drama team, to explore many facets of the expressive arts, including Performance, Puppetry and Improvisation. The students have also been learning the art of storytelling through Readers’ Theatre. Our Year 3 performance is a culmination of the types of drama our students have been exposed to and they are thrilled to share their experience with you. Please join us on Wednesday 14 October at 6.00pm in the Victor Smorgon Hall. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend this performance, however places are limited to a maximum of four guests per student.

We have pleasure in inviting Grandparents to a special Grandparents’ Morning Tea. There will be two of these events, one for Primary Grandparents (Years 2-5) on Tuesday 19 May from 11am - 12.30pm and one for Kinder 3 – Year 1 Grandparents on 9.30am - 11am.

Dear Class of 1996, It's time to get ready for your 30-Year Reunion!  The evening will be held at Bialik in the Bursztyn Family Hub. There will be a well-stocked bar, food and the opportunity to walk through the school to see what has changed. We have arranged a table at Governor's Hall from 8pm so you can continue reminiscing well into the evening.  There is a booking fee attached to help make this a night to remember. This Information is provided for families with students entering Year 5 in 2027, new students to Bialik in 2027 OR for currently enrolled students considering changing devices in 2027 from the BYO program to the College Device Purchase Program. As part of the College’s commitment to using technology to enhance learning, our laptop program is as follows: All students in Years 5 to 8 will use Microsoft Windows only devices. Students from Years 9 to 12 will have the option to use other devices - both Microsoft Windows or Apple MacBook. Google Chrome devices are not supported. Having a consistent operating system in our primary and middle years supports quality teaching and learning in the classroom at Bialik College by removing technical constraints that occur when different devices and systems are used and therefore removing distractions and improving learning outcomes. Families can choose to purchase a Windows laptop through the College Device Purchase Program (page 5) or provide their own Windows laptop that meets the given minimum specifications (page 7), includes 3 years' HP accidental damage protection and is offered at an increase of only 2.7% on last year's price. We have outlined the choices available in this handbook and indicated important information that should be considered when making your decision. Please read this information carefully and seek independent advice to ensure device compatibility if you are not purchasing through the College. Decisions should be made no later than Monday 12 October. Please note that we may be unable to support changes to your preference after this date. This price is only possible if a non-refundable deposit of $100 is received by Monday 12 October. Invoices for the balance of payment will be issued once devices have been secured through our supplier. School-purchased laptops will be distributed during the first week or second week of Term 1, 2027.
