State of Dance is HSPA's annual Year 3-12 dance showcase celebrating the talent, creativity and dedication of our dance students through a diverse range of dance performances.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of Carnatic music in support of John Hunter Children’s Hospital Cancer Research! Veenamirdam - A traditional Indian music concert featuring Ramana Balachandhran on the Veena — one of India’s most celebrated young classical musicians — and Dr Patri Satish Kumar on the Mridangam, an inimitable virtuoso of South Indian percussion. The duo will perform compositions and improvisation from the Carnatic tradition - both a virtuosic and soulful showcase of melody, rhythm and a deep dialogue between artists. Every ticket supports cancer research for children. Come for the music, stay for the cause”

IT’S TIME TO GET A LITTLE BIT NAUGHTY, NEWCASTLE. Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, and the Tony Award-winning masterpiece, Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical JR. revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. Step inside Crunchem Hall Primary School (aka. Hunter Theatre, Broadmeadow), where Matilda - a brilliant little girl with astonishing wit and imagination - discovers she may have powers far greater than anyone ever realised. Along the way she finds friendship, courage, and kindness in the beautiful Miss Honey, and goes head-to-head with the tyrant headmistress herself, Miss Trunchbull. With book by Dennis Kelly and the razor-sharp, riotous score by Tim Minchin, this worldwide smash hit storms onto the stage packed with rebellion, chaos, courage, heart, and plenty of revolting fun. Featuring a cast of Newcastle’s most extraordinary young performers, this fearless production is a wild theatrical uprising for anyone who has ever dreamed of standing up, speaking out, and being a little bit naughty.

Our annual TOP ROCK STUDIOS COMPANY show is back and this year we’re bringing you a powerful, high-energy showcase of what the Newcastle dance scene is all about. Featuring choreography by Zane Sherwood, Braeden Lee, Georgia Robinson and the Top Rock Studios team, you’ll experience a mix of high-quality performances by our incredible 2026 Top Rock Company dancers. This team has been putting in the work behind the scenes for months to create something truly special… and this year, we’re doing things a little differently. There is only ONE show. One night to experience it all. This isn’t just a dance concert, it’s a celebration of growth, creativity, and the community we’ve built together!

Step inside the delicious world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination, including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas. Our talented Year 3–6 students can’t wait to share this magical adventure with you.
