Maidstone Community Centre

Maidstone Community Centre is a Council run multi-purpose community centre that welcomes people of all ages, cultures and abilities. We provide an exciting range of community programs and activities focused towards enriching and supporting our community. Our programs include health and wellbeing; language and literacy; digital literacy; art and craft; social and recreational programs.

  • Between Saturday 29 August 2020 and Saturday 19 September 2020
    SEWERS UNITE! The cost of masks may not be a consideration for many of us but it is for many others. Sewers world wide have been wildly sewing - sister teams, couples, families - it’s been amazing. These masks are then donated to those that need them ❤
  • Between Friday 11 September 2020 and Friday 16 October 2020
    Please wear comfortable clothing and join from a comfortable chair or somewhere you can lie down. You will also need paper (any size) and something to draw or write with. You can join using a computer or tablet, however some features may not work as well on a tablet. Audio quality will be best through headphones/earbuds or external speakers, but you are welcome to use your laptop/tablet’s inbuilt speakers.

    Come along and get to know some of your fellow community members through listening (or singing along!) to some favourite songs and having a chat about the music you love.     If you haven’t tried meditation or feel drawn to reconnect with this wonderful practice, now is the time! Meditation is a simple act to create space and stillness. This guided meditation class run by Fleur, will support and guide you to a calmer more relaxed state of being. Take this moment to pause, breath and create space for your body, mind and soul.

    Come on a rollicking ride through dance and percussion and ROCK OUT with Razz. Suitable for 0-4 years. Due to COVID-19, this class will be Live streamed on real time through Zoom. You will need a drum and drumsticks (yoghurt/ice cream tub + 2 wooden spoons), some scarves, and a tambourine or set of keys to use as a tambourine. Razz our fabulous Instructor has select some music for this term, please get your child/children to learn the songs before the class.

    The Tree of Life process has been used around the world with people of all ages. Using music, art, and narrative influences, you will be invited to think about your past, present, and future in an empowering way as you create an image to represent these. You will also be encouraged to reflect on meaningful parts of your identity such as your personal values, hopes and dreams, and important supportive relationships.
