QACI (Queensland Academies Creative Industries) is a selective-entry state high school for highly capable students in Years 10 - 12. As part of the Queensland Department of Education Outreach program a limited opportunity for Year 7 & 8 dance students is available to participate in an ACARA curriculum based workshop on Friday 7 August, 4pm (Term 3 Week 4) at QACI. The $20 workshop includes dinner and two tickets (student and parent) to attend the Step Right Up! Dance Showcase taking place on Friday 7 August, 6:30pm.
There is limited availability for this workshop and bookings are essential.
Students are invited to engage in a contemporary dance workshop exploring compositional skills, facilitated and led by Phluxus2Dance Collective Artist, Jacob Watton. Jacob Watton is a Queensland-based choreographer, performer, and teaching artist based in Magandjin (Brisbane). Jacob holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Dance Performance from the Queensland University of Technology and has built a dynamic career creating, performing, and educating across contemporary dance, children’s theatre, and cross-disciplinary performance.
