Dr Gianfranco Conti 'Devloping the EPI Curriculum'

SAGTA is thrilled to host a one-day workshop featuring Dr. Gianfranco Conti for our SAGTA members, as well as our friends and colleagues from other language teacher associations. 'Developing the EPI Curriculum' Attendance in this workshop is advised for those proficient in the 'Conti method,' having prior professional development experience with Dr. Gianfranco Conti. Participants should grasp and actively utilise EPI. Topics include: Key components of EPI curriculum design The principles underpinning effective short, medium and long-term planning The procedures involved in design, implementation, and evaluation of a course Acquisition-enhancing strategies, for example, recycling, interleaving, universals and fluency training The role of assessment as a means to advance learning Morning tea, a light lunch & refreshments will be provided. Please bring a mini-whiteboard and marker to the workshop

Das Denken sichtbar machen! Thinking Routines Workshop

Wednesday 21 February 2024
This workshop, led by Tanya Siebert, is based on her experiences of how Visible Thinking Routines from Ritchhart, Church and Morrison can enrich primary or secondary language teaching. Numerous examples of classroom use will be presented. There will be time for you to try out some of the routines with your colleagues and to plan a lesson or activity using one or more of the routines. Please bring a text/audio sample in your target language to work with.

SAGTA 1 DAY SACE ORAL EXAMINATION REVISION COURSE

Tuesday 11 October 2022
A one day course aimed at assisting students to prepare for their upcoming SACE oral examination. Students will undertake a series of activities aimed at preparing them for the oral examination and will take part in a mock examination. Students are to asked to bring any materials they have previously prepared with them. Students need to bring their own lunch and snacks.

German Careers Day @ Adelaide University

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Australia-wide This year the German Careers Day will be held as a nation-wide event. Year 10-12 students from South Australia are invited to join us on Thursday 29th July 2021 at the University of Adelaide to learn about career paths with German. We will start with a welcome and a keynote speech, followed by zoom presentations from experts from a variety of academic fields. In the afternoon there will be an online film screening that can be attended optionally.

Virtual Excursion Creation Workshop: Date II

Learn how to create your own virtual excursions or tours using the VRTY platform! Google Tour Creator will also be discussed. Teachers must bring their own laptops and mobile phones to the event. The two workshops are capped at 15 participants per event to allow for sufficient support from the instructors. This workshop is identical to the October 24 Workshop. Catering is not yet permitted at Immanuel, therefore please bring water and a snack. Please do not book in for both events.

Webinar for SA Teachers of German

SAGTA is running an ‘Online Learning’ Webinar for its members on April 16 at 10am - 12pm. There will be a sections on creating smart lessons in Education Perfect, tips and ideas for synchronous and asynchronous learning, hints for setting up your teams effectively, including how to differentiate and cater for the student stuck at home. Whilst we may be able to offer a few tips on technical issues, this will not be the focus of the webinar.

Immersive Technologies in Education - SAGTA
