Eagles Nest Theatre Company

Eagles Nest Theatre has grown to become one of Melbourne’s most prolific independent not-for-profit art organisations in Victoria. Their theatre productions have toured internationally from Asia to Europe, and their education programs have made them one of the largest suppliers of theatre-in-education in Victoria.

    Women of Troy is an outdoor live event involving multi-disciplinary art forms, performed by an ensemble of strong female performers. Euripides’s play is centred during the turbulent Trojan war and focuses on the lives of the women of ancient Greece and the way this traumatic event changed their lives forever. The play invokes strikingly current parallels to the issues we face in our modern world. Both reflective and confrontational, the play asks the question; ‘how far have we really come’?

    Euripides’s play is centred during the turbulent Trojan war and focuses on the lives of the women of ancient Greece. With their city sacked, their husbands and families dead or sold into slavery, the women of Troy must survive a tragedy that will shape their lives and change their world forever. Women of Troy invokes strikingly current parallels to the issues we face in our modern world. Both reflective and confrontational, the play asks the question; ‘how far have we really come’?
