The Whistleblowers – Panel Discussion

What are the consequences of blowing the whistle on unethical and illegal conduct? When he was an Army lawyer, David McBride, author of The Nature of Honour provided documents to the ABC regarding war crimes committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan. For that, McBride has been convicted, and in two weeks will be sentenced. He will be joined on a panel by Jeff Morris, whose anonymous revelations about fraud and cover-up at CBA led to the Royal Commission on Banking. He has been heralded as a pied piper of whistle blowers. Dr Sophie Scamps, Independent MP from Mackllar will discuss what Canberra needs to do. Until 2013 he taught Australian Literature at The University of Sydney. In recent years he has devoted his writing increasingly to animal advocacy. He lives with rescued sheep in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. In 2014 he was awarded an Australia Council Fellowship for services to Australian and international literature.
