Come and join us on Monday evenings for an hour of movement, breath and mindfulness. Julia is a teacher who is passionate about yoga as a practice for physical and mental wellbeing on and off the mat. As informed by her work as a psychiatric nurse, her classes incorporate skills for practicing nervous system regulation, self-compassion and increasing awareness of body-mind connection.

Explore the imaginary world of Joan Miro. Miro used his imagination to create images and relied on shapes and symbols when creating his work. Students will be given the opportunity to experiment with shapes using black pen and paint and then collage some images using these painted shapes. They will then create a series of images based on ideas that evolve from this process of playing with pen and paint, and shape and line. Selected elements, created through this process of playing and experimenting, will be painted and collaged onto card to create a series of 3D inspired Miro creatures! Morning tea and all materials are provided. Children can attend a single session or book for both classes. There will be the opportunity to build on the work from the previous class. Prior to the program an enrolment form will be emailed to you requesting emergency contact and participants details.

Enjoy two and a half hours of untutored life drawing in our beautiful light-filled studio with professional LMS models. With easels and tables available to use and paper to purchase, all you need to bring are your materials to draw poses ranging from quick to extended as the session progresses.

For beginners & returning musicians of violin, viola, cello or double bass. BYO instrument, music stand & sense of humour. Music supplied, all ages welcome. Learn tapestry weaving from our expert tutor, Hannah Rother-Gelder in a friendly, workshop-style environment. Tapestry weaving is a weft-based weaving where the warp is completely covered. The proposed image is marked on the weft as a guide using a cartoon (drawing) behind the warp as a further guide when weaving. Students will be guided through the process of this particular method of weaving. 5 tutorial classes are required in order to build your skills and knowledge of tapestry weaving. After these sessions you will become a member of the tapestry weaving club. Beginners welcome. All materials supplied. Partially supported by a Yarra Grant.

Learn the basics of life drawing with our expert artist and tutor, Patrick Loverso, in this 9 week course, weekly on Saturdays, 3–5 pm. Gain skills in observing, drawing, and understanding the human figure. The course runs from July 26 to September 20 inclusive. This booking is for the entire course. Materials provided.

Draw a professional model in our beautiful light-filled studio with easels and tables provided. Bring your own materials or buy paper from us. The pose will be held for the entire session. This class is untutored and suitable for all levels.

Death Café creates conversations in which death is a part of everyday life. Join us at Princes Hill Community Centre for this event where we’ll be warm and cosy, with tea and cakes provided. Perhaps you’ll decide to come with a friend but if you choose to come alone you’ll feel welcome and at ease.  You’ll have a chance to speak or simply listen to a wide range of stories, experiences, and questions. Join Anzara Clark in a 3 hour workshop to learn about writing grants and increase your chances of submitting successful grants. This workshop is designed for artists currently or planning to seek and apply for grants through funding sources. Format of workshop • Lecture style presentation • Short break and refocus • Q and A • A hands on workshop style activity to get some support in preparing some genetic information (e.g. artist bio and statements)

Make a simple wearable paper vest to astound your friends and stand out from the crowd. Learn about paper cloth and tricks for sewing paper garments. You will be provided with pre-prepared paper cloth sheets and be guided through the process of piecing, cutting, stitching and finishing your paper vest. We will discuss ways of further waterproofing your new paper vest if you want additional weather resilience. Once you have made your first paper vest, you are bound to want to make another. All materials will be provided. Bring a sewing machine and a basic sewing kit if you have one. If you don’t, don’t worry, we will have spare equipment for you to use.
