Membership of the ACT Junior Chess League provides a discount of $5 per tournament entry, as well as allowing you to enter a limited number of ACT Chess Association (Open) events and participate in development activities. Membership is $15 per year for a single player or $20 for a family membership.

At the Summer Boot Camp – Chess Coaching and Lightning day, players will have a morning of top quality coaching from some of Canberra’s best coaches. Coaching will take place in ability based groups over 3 x 1 hour sessions. The afternoon is taken up by a fun event called “Lightning”. Please note we also have the Boot Camp Allegro on Wed 22nd January and the Boot Camp Long Time Tournament on Thu 23rd and Fri 24th January

When: Sunday 23 February 2025. Registration starts at 12:45pm and players should be ready to start at 1pm. Prize giving at around 4.30pm. Where: Campbell High School Hall, Treloar Crescent, Campbell Who: Children born on or after 1 January 2005 Cost: $15 per child ($20 for non-members). Third and subsequent child from the same family is free Time Limits: 5 mins per player per game (max 10 mins/round). A minimum of 11 rounds will be played on the day and all players participate in all rounds (except when byes occur). Awards: Trophies for 1 st, 2nd and 3rd overall, best unrated, age trophies for the first placed child in the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 age groups. Participants can only receive one trophy. Every player receives a ribbon! No players are “eliminated” during the day! Awards: Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall, Rating Group A and B, and best unrated. Participants can only receive one trophy.
