Author Event: As She Chose by Oliver Christen

Wednesday 24 June 2026
Join us for an evening conversation with author Oliver Christen. Oliver Christen grew up near Basel, Switzerland, and spent more than two decades travelling the world, building businesses across four continents, and exploring meditation, personal growth, and diverse cultures. He later settled in Australia, where he met his wife and started a family, before returning to Switzerland as a dual Swiss–Australian citizen to be closer to his ageing parents. A deeply personal experience accompanying his mother through her intentional end-of-life journey inspired As She Chose, his first book. In this intimate memoir, Oliver reflects on love, family, autonomy, and the choices we make at life's end. When not writing, he enjoys spending time in nature, whether in the mountains, forests, or by the ocean.

Jude Pascal Album Tour & special guest Poppy from the Moon

Friday 3 July 2026
Join us for a very special night of live folk music at The Press Bookhouse on Friday, 3rd of July. ”The delightfully vivid colours and shapes woven throughout Jude Pascal’s songwriting were originally born out of a seemingly innocent question, which slowly progressed into what can only be described as an incurable obsession: “What on earth are you supposed to write about in the first place?” His quest for a reliable answer has led him far and wide - even through an entire degree at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music - yet remains, curiously, unresolved. This July, Jude is embarking on a solo tour of the east coast to continue his search and to promote the release of his brand-new debut studio album “Today is the Day”, a triumphant documentation of his efforts so far.” 6pm - Poppi From The Moon 7pm - Jude Pascal
