He later settled in Australia, where he met his wife and started a family, before returning to Switzerland as a dual Swiss–Australian citizen to be closer to his ageing parents. A deeply personal experience accompanying his mother through her intentional end-of-life journey inspired As She Chose, his first book. In this intimate memoir, Oliver reflects on love, family, autonomy, and the choices we make at life's end. When not writing, he enjoys spending time in nature, whether in the mountains, forests, or by the ocean.
