Come along for crafting and chatting at the Yangebup Family Centre. Previously Social Sewing, this group has expanded to include other crafts like crochet and knitting as programs and interests have expanded at the Centre. All levels of experience and crafts are welcome. These sessions do not include any formal tuition however it is a great place for sharing ideas and inspiration. Please bring your own crafting supplies and sewing machine, if required, or alternatively you can borrow a machine for the session. Creche available for weekday sessions. There are risks to using sewing machines and power cords. To ensure your safety when using sewing machines we encourage you to wear enclosed shoes, tie back long hair and remove any long accessories. When accessing items from the sewing cupboards please refer to the safety signage on the inside of the cupboard door.

Yoga with creche 2024

Between Monday 16 September 2024 and Monday 14 October 2024
The benefits of yoga are felt instantly. Develop and enhance your own yoga practice. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket with you. Creche is available for Monday morning sessions. You are welcome to book a trial class to try the program before joining. Try a class on Monday 16 September before booking Term 4!

Sustainability Workshops

Join us for a range of eco crafting activities making new items from scrap materials. Children 12+ may book with an attending adult. Rag Rugs Session 1,2 and 3 - completed. Cooking with Bread - completed. Drop Spindle & Spinning - completed. Boomerang Bags & Bunting - Boomerang Bags is a global community that repurposes textiles destined for landfill to create fabric bags. Take home your own fabric bag. Slow Stitching - is a repetitive hand stitching of fabric scraps to create something new and functional, it is about the process of slowing down, not just the finished object. Jewellery Upcycle - using old pieces to create something new and unique. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own pieces to add a personal touch. Don’t miss this chance to breathe new life into your old treasures! You can choose to attend just one or both sessions.

All community members, groups, and Centre users are invited to the Yangebup Family Centre's AGM on Tuesday, 15 October. All Welcome! Share your ideas, meet new friends, and discover more about our centre over coffee, cake, cheese, and wine! This meeting will include the election of our new committee members for 2024/2025.
