As the vintage train chugs along the scenic tracks, children and their beloved stuffed companions eagerly anticipate the adventure ahead. The rhythmic clatter of the wheels provides a soothing soundtrack, and the gentle breeze rustles through the trees, creating a whimsical atmosphere. Pack your own lunch or pick some of the delightful nibbles available from our dedicated station team. The journey on the Mornington Tourist Railway, coupled with the joy of the teddy bear's day out, creates cherished memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. If you don't have a Teddy Bear but a Security toy instead, then bring them along for a train ride. Teddy's etc must be accompanied by their owner to travel free.

Our restored 98G carriage (80 years old) is split into two compartments holding 34 or 40 passengers. Both carriages have space for food (BYO) and drinks (BYO). No onboard fridge or kitchen facilities are available. Bookings close one (1) week before the Train Trip. Train Rides commence from Moorooduc Station with the return train ride taking approximately one hour.

Welcome to Mornington Tourist Railway’s Platinum Driver Experience program to drive a steam locomotive or heritage diesel locomotive. The day’s experience includes: • Safety briefing & guest driver instruction • Driving the locomotive to Mornington and return • Assembling carriages (shunting) to build a train at Moorooduc • Driving a second trip to Mornington with family and friends travelling in carriages • Presentation of Certificate/s of Achievement Optional catering: • Morning Sessions, morning tea and lunch for participant, lunch for guests. • Afternoon Sessions, lunch and afternoon teas for participants, afternoon tea for guest. Costings: • Diesel Drivers Experience: $1300.00 single, $1500.00 double • Steam Drivers Experience: $1800.00 single, $2000.00 double This application is subject to: • Acceptance by Mornington Railway Preservation Society • Confirmation of availability to the applicant. • Subject to reading and accepting all terms February and March - Diesel only available - other months have Diesel and Steam.
