Banyule: Hands-on Bike Maintenance Workshop 2024

Between Saturday 31 August 2024 and Thursday 3 April 2025
This 2.5-hour workshop is an interactive, hands-on bike maintenance experience. Includes demonstration and explanation of bicycle maintenance essentials, including changing a flat tyre, adjusting brakes, and cleaning and lubing the drive-train; with opportunities for participants to practice on their own bikes. For 13yo upwards (teenagers to be accompanied by an adult). This course is commissioned by the Banyule City Council and led by Bike it Better.

Banyule: Individual Bike Skills Sessions (all ages 7+): 2024

Between Sunday 1 September 2024 and Sunday 13 April 2025
Each of these 50min cycling skills sessions is for adults and children aged 7+ who can not yet ride a bike but would like to learn, or for novice riders with basic skills who would like to improve their confidence to enable them to use their bike for sustainable transport to work, shopping, visit friends, or fitness and recreation. This course is commissioned by Banyule City Council and delivered by Bike it Better. * Participants MUST live, work or study within Banyule City Council.  * Limit of 1 session per participant.

Whitehorse Seniors Month Bike Check & Basic Repairs Pop-up

As part of October Seniors Month 2024, City of Whitehorse are offering this Basic Bike Check & Repair Pop-up event. Book in for a 15min timeslot and your bike will be given a safety check, and where possible, any necessary basic repairs or adjustments will be completed. You will also be provided with a list of any more complex repairs that need attention from a shop or service centre.  You might also like to request advice for ongoing maintenance of your bike, advice about transitioning to an e-bike, or recommendations for bike setup adjustments. This course is commissioned by the City of Whitehorse and delivered by the professionals from Bike it Better, and is open to seniors who live, work or study in Whitehorse.

Banyule: Urban Cycling Confidence: 2024

Between Sunday 24 November 2024 and Saturday 12 April 2025
This 4.5 hour Urban Cycling Confidence course is for adults who can ride confidently on shared paths and wish to start riding on the road. You will develop your bike riding skills and knowledge to ride on roads with confidence, and enable you to use your bike for sustainable transport to work, visit friends, for shopping, fitness and recreation. Includes an on-road riding component in light traffic. This course is commissioned by City of Banyule and delivered by the professionals from Bike it Better.
